Two school bus crashes in Northwest Ohio this morning. Serious injuries for the driver that rear-ended one bus. Extrication resources included in this post.

The Westminster (SC) Fire Department will be hosting the third annual Rippin' Rescue class on March 29, 2014. This will be a one day class with all hands-on training.

Think about how you would go about rescue if people were in these cars. Extrication, trench rescue, USAR, ladders, ropes, high-lines, etc. Also below is a previous post about a sinkhole rescue in Toledo, OH. Be sure to check it out.

Below is a video recap of a field amputation of a workers arm followed by a few entrapment hazards we found at a local industrial facility. Sit down with your crew and discus the scenarios.

The Milan Township Fire Department responded to an 11 vehicle pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike (westbound around the 116 mile marker, near the Sandusky/Norwarlk exit).

Pretty good interview with a Fire Chief after the extrication of two occupants in a pickup. The truck hit a tree and had heavy frontal damage and pinned one of the passengers when the floor pan rolled up.

Remember victim stabilization (arm) and protection from sparks and the cutting wheel is needed (safety glasses, spatulas, etc).

When the driver or the other front seat passenger is pinned under the dash we should be able to blitz the side of the car and lift the dash fast.
