Learning About Exercising Leadership

For the last week I have been at the National Fire Academy in the Executive Fire Officer Program Executive Development class.  It has been a challenge to keep up with the blog and all the social media outlets, but I have a little time this afternoon to share some pictures.

If you haven’t been to the National Fire Academy; be sure to apply for a class and get here.  The education, history, and networking is outstanding.  Some of you probably know that Chuck Burkell retired from being the Executive Fire Officer Program Director in December of 2013.  He has since passed his test to become a licensed Gettysburg battlefield guide.  Mr. Burkell wasn’t going to tell us, but we were his first official tour with his license; although he has been guiding EFO students through the battlefield for years.

Last night I met up with The Fire Critic who is in Emmitsburg for a NFFF planning meeting.  Good stuff to come from the foundation.  Be sure to support them now as they take care of us and our families.

Pass it on!
