Andrew Brassard made a maze prop that weighs a couple hundred pounds. The idea is to use pry bars, airbags, wedges, cribbing, rabbit tools, spreaders, and other tools to manipulate the box and get a small ball from one end to the other.

It's that time of year for the Northern Ohio FOOLS host the annual Heavy Rescue 101 training. It is free training. CE's provided by Ehove Fire Academy. All the details are below. Be sure to register by April 1.

The Westminster (SC) Fire Department will be hosting the third annual Rippin' Rescue class on March 29, 2014. This will be a one day class with all hands-on training.

After getting home late Sunday night from the Rippin Rescue in Westminster, SC, I was hurrying to the curb with my bags of trash Monday morning just as the garbage truck rolled up. Two days earlier we were finding ways to extricate a victim pinned by a car that rear-ended the truck.

The driver of a passenger car died after rear-ending a stopped school bus near Tomball, Texas on Wednesday (12-12-12). This under-ride is a potentially challenging one because of the big vehicle on top.

For the 3rd year in a row, the firefighters behind the Ohio Fire & EMS Expo put on a great show. Each year it has grown bigger and better. Somehow they have found a way to bring in high caliber instructors and keep the conference pass affordably priced and the expo hall free, thanks to Rescue Methods. We had the opportunity to break the new sleeves in by lifting and moving some 3,500 pound concrete blocks. This will be the first of a couple posts showing their use and challenges.
