Yesterday was a great morning for a run in Sandusky, OH. A few of us ran in the Stein Hospice 5k that was basically an out and back course along the Sandusky Bay and downtown. Many of us know the value Stein Hospice provides to people and their families in times of grieving. We were glad to be a part of the run in memory of those that have gone before us.

A bunch of us are tapering for the Glass City Marathon in Toledo, Ohio this Sunday. FF Hackenburg is running the full marathon in gear and a pack while most of our First Due Racing team is running the half marathon.

This past Thursday we kicked off our racing season at the Courage and Valor 5k at FDIC. Before I could get home this morning some other brothers ran in the Humane Society 5k in Sandusky, OH.

Part of the motivation for the PD guys is when firefighters take off running first while carrying a box of donuts and on the flip side the PD guys put recliners at the finish line for us firefighters. All kidding aside; I hope you find some motivation in the new logo.

The weather in northern Ohio has been cold, windy, snowy and full of crashes.  We’ve seen and heard about school buses off the road, semi trailers sideways, and multi-car wrecks.  Below are a few pictures.  Remember to stay alert on the roadways for vehicles sliding your way.  It does take time to shut the road down and/or divert traffic. The Manalapan Township Fire Co. #1 had its hands full last Friday when a dump truck lost control and rolled onto a school bus. Luckily, no children were on the bus and no injuries were reported.
