Mass Casualty Incident

Two school buses were involved in one crash this morning in Cleveland. 12 students and 2 adults were transported to area hospitals.

Over the last two days there have been two serious school bus crashes. No city, town, village is immune to these crashes. The school bus in the First Due Tackle logo is a constant reminder to prepare for these incidents.

A crash involving more than 50 vehicles on the Ohio Turnpike. Two people were killed and an Ohio State Patrol Trooper was pinned between two vehicles.

Over this weekend the world saw two fatal charter bus crashes. Although different in construction, these buses give rescuers similar challenges because of the numbers of passengers. Lots of personnel and resources are needed for incidents of this magnitude.

On this day in 1942 a fire broke out in the Cocoanut Grove Night Club in Boston Mass. This fire would claim 492 occupants and would change numerous codes dealing with exits, decorative finishes, and sub levels.
