Below are a couple pictures of a interesting elevator rescue set-up from the Edmonton Technical Rescue Team (Engine 3 and Rescue 3). They used Paratech collapse shores.

The prusik makes it easy to adjust where you want the working end of the jackhammer to be. This can also be accomplished with a tool being held by two personnel.

Think about how you would go about rescue if people were in these cars. Extrication, trench rescue, USAR, ladders, ropes, high-lines, etc. Also below is a previous post about a sinkhole rescue in Toledo, OH. Be sure to check it out.

Here are some photos and a drill description from a task force (MI-TF1) exercise last week. The task was to shore a sloped (lean-to) floor. They used Paratech equipment.
