This is another innovative training from Lt. Grant Light and his crew on Cincinnati Fire Department Rescue 9. It's another cheap drill to put together in the house.

The contractor started knocking out the bottom row of cinder blocks from the inside of the structure. With one block to go they took a sledgehammer to the final block in the center of the wall. Immediately, the wall collapsed and fell outward unexpectedly.

Then, over the next 2 days we were in the water covering defensive swimming, throwbags, shallow water crossings, swiftwater rescue boards, 2 and 4 line boat operations, high line boat operations, and victim rescue.

Summer is coming to a close and the farm fields will be getting more active again. We've kept this post fairly short with some patient management thoughts, but have included several links below that touch on: haybines, augers, combines, anhydrous ammonia tanks, corn headers, grain bin rescue, and rope systems.

During a recent company training we pre-planned a local strip-mall. When we were looking at the back of the building we noticed that the mortar holding the bricks together at the bottom of the parapet wall was missing.

FF Gadd took a couple pictures of a strip mall that is getting a bit of a face lift. We don't always get a chance to see the inside guts of overhangs and facades, so be sure to take advantage if an opportunity like this happens in your area.

We know a guy that needed a semi tractor cut up. He just happened to know we would cut it up for him. So, that's what we did. A quick-hitter class of sorts, but its not everyday you get to cut up a semi tractor.
